case 3 pt 3

Late again. I offer no excuses. Only an apology. - Dahlia Evidence: There isn’t much in the way of physical evidence in the confirmed Zodiac cases, but there is a little.  There were letters sent to local press from the Zodiac, and these letters were processed for prints, DNA, and handwriting comparison. Evidence has thus far been inconclusive. There were bloody prints left at the Paul Stine crime scene in the taxi. Though Zodiac claimed he purposely planted those prints, witnesses don’t corroborate that. Which leads to the next portion of evidence in the cases. Witnesses. Other than the Paul Stine crime scenes, the murders were conducted in rural areas, thus leaving only the surviving victims as witnesses to those crimes. At the Stine scene; however, there were actually witnesses at multiple areas around the scene itself. Sketches were created, but there are some discrepancies in them. The letters themselves can serve as a means to analyze the killer himself, making them inval...

Hey, guys. As promised, here's the second portion of last week's case. I've been super sick, so I apologize for any spelling or grammar mistakes. Part three will be up next week, concluding the case.    Enjoy! -Dahlia David Faraday- 17 & Betty Lou Jensen- 16 December 20, 1968 C.O.D. - gunshot wounds Location- Vallejo, California                 On the outskirts of Vallejo, California, in a desolate area on Lake Herman Road, the bodies of teenagers, 17 year old David Faraday and 16 year old Betty Lou Jensen, were found. She died immed...

This week’s post is going to be a little on the short side, due to the fact that I have been called into work and don’t have the time to properly lay out the case right now. However, this case is so massive that I wouldn’t be able to fit it all into one post anyway. So, I’m going to stretch it out over the next three weeks to ensure that I do it justice. This week I’m going to give a brief overview of the case. Next week I’ll go more in depth into the victims and methodology. And the following week, I’ll discuss media involvement, evidence, and suspects/theories. So, without further ado, let’s discuss the Zodiac Killer. Zodiac Location: California Date: Murders: 1968-1969 Mailed threats: 1969-1974 Victims: Confirmed: David Faraday, Betty Lou Jensen, Darlene Ferrin, Mike Mageau, Cecelia Shepard, Bryan Hartell, Paul Stine Unconfirmed: a host of other murders claimed in various letters to newspapers Details:           ...

As always, discretion is advised. The Boy in the Box Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Date: February 25, 1957 Victim: unidentified young boy approximately 4-6 years old Details:                 On a cold, Pennsylvania morning in 1957, Fredrick Benosis reported a horrifying discovery. The naked body of a young boy was tucked into a cardboard box and dumped in an out of the way area of Philadelphia. Unfortunately, this was not the first time this particular crime scene had been stumbled upon. Nor was it reported on the same day as Benosis had discovered the body.  Due to wanting to avoid criminal charges, the young boy had lain in the cold for at least three days. While the cold had preserved the body relatively well, the elements did nothing to protect the forensic evidence. Evidence & Autopsy:             ...
